Caboolture Clay Target Club

Ron Daniells passed away on 20.11.2002. He was a foundation member of Chinchilla Gun Club in 1968-69-70-71. After moving to Kallangur he joined the Brisbane Club in 1972 until he once again was a keen foundation member of Kallangur Gun Club. This friendly country club in primitive surroundings became a popular club to meet & shoot. Ron held many positions in the club and the family home was always open to all for monthly meetings and AGM’S. Ella, his wife, and other ladies providing snacks and great BBQ’S on shoot days. Ron was made a life member of Kallangur Club. From Kallangur he moved to Caboolture where once again a new club was founded where a similar atmosphere to Kallangur developed. On retirement Ron & Ella moved to Roma where they quickly joined in at the club, because of illness they moved back to the Sunshine Coast after six years to rejoin Caboolture club, until too ill to shoot in 2001. His wife and family always supported his chosen sport which spanned 33 years. Ron’s love for the sport shone through with his coaching and his encouragement to enthusiastic shooters. The Ron Daniells Memorial Shield is shot 4 times per year, once at each of the following Clubs Brisbane, Caboolture, Redcliffe & Sunshine Coast. The teams consist of 5 shooters any grade, Members of team’s should be affiliated with the Club that they are shooting for, But if a team needs members to make up a team they will be made up from the host club’s members, Hi-gun scores over the days events to be used for shield, Scores from the four shoots each year will be totalled and the club with the highest score over that year will have there club’s name engraved on the shield which will remain at Caboolture Clay Target Club.
